Overview

Engineered a comprehensive, ground-up website rework for the Safari Rally to revitalize its digital presence and capture the high-energy essence of the event. I focused on building a “sporty,” immersive interface that delivers a seamless user experience, providing fans and participants with a dynamic environment to engage with the rally’s heritage and live updates.

Technical Execution

  • Frontend Engineering: Architected the platform from scratch using React.js and JavaScript, ensuring a high-performance, responsive foundation for a global audience.

  • Data Integration: Implemented a modern data layer using GraphQL and REST APIs to facilitate fast, efficient content delivery and real-time data fetching.

  • Design & Styling: Developed a bespoke, energetic visual language using Tailwind CSS, prioritizing speed and a “mobile-first” approach to reflect the rally’s fast-paced environment.

  • DevOps & Scalability: Containerized the application with Docker to ensure consistent deployment environments and the ability to handle high-traffic surges during peak event days.

Result

Delivered a high-impact digital platform that successfully translates the excitement of the Safari Rally into a modern online experience. The final product provides an engaging, friction-free gateway for visitors, significantly elevating the event’s brand and accessibility through a custom-built technical stack.
